Day 1 Wednesday – London * Warwick * Chester
Our English Cameos® Nature & Majesty tour leaves London this morning and
heads to Warwick for a visit of Warwick Castle, England’s finest
medieval castle, with magnificent towers and ramparts, set within stunning
grounds designed by Capability Brown, famous 18th century landscape
artist. We continue into Cheshire to Chester for two nights at The Queen Hotel.

Day 2 Thursday – Chester
A day to explore Chester’s rich Roman past and medieval sites. We will stroll
along the Roman City Walls and visit its Roman amphitheatre, the
largest in Britain. We will enjoy visiting the Rows, medieval galleries
of shops, its Cathedral
, dating from 1092 and have time for some local shopping. (B, L)
Day 3 Friday – Chester * Haworth * Grasmere
Through the scenic Yorkshire Dales to enjoy the superb gardens at Gawthorpe
Hall, continuing to Haworth and the famous Bronte Parsonage.
Then to Levens Hall, to tour its marvelous Elizabethan mansion with
fabulous topiary garden dating form 1692! We reach the idyllic Lake
District for three nights at the Wordsworth Hotel

Day 4 Saturday & Day 5 Sunday – The Lake District’s Delights
Two full days to savor the scenery that has inspired so many. We visit many
places of interest such as Muncaster Castle with its renowned Owl Center;
Hill Top, where Beatrix Potter created Peter Rabbit and
his friends; Wordsworth’s lovely Dove Cottage; and the
fascinating Cumberland Pencil Museum, where the humble instrument was
first manufactured. We will explore the lovely countryside around Eskdale,
and the villages that surround Lake Windermere and Coniston Water,
with time for a leisurely boat ride

Day 6 Monday – Lake District * York
Through the lush Yorkshire Dales National Park to Ripon with the
most beautiful and extensive ruins of Fountains Abbey, once a Cistercian
Monastery, continuing on to York, for three nights at The York Hilton
in the heart of downtown. (B, L)
Day 7 Tuesday - York * Castle Howard
A morning walk in this medieval walled city with its famous Minster,
northern Europe’s largest Gothic church, and through the quaint, narrow
streets, always bustling. An afternoon tour of magnificent Castle Howard
, to delight in its superb interiors and collections of jewelry, porcelain,
furniture and marbles, all set in an astounding vast park. (B, L)
Day 8 Wednesday – York * Harwood House & Bird Garden
We visit York’s Merchant Adventurers’ Hall, one of the finest medieval
guild halls in all Europe, before touring Harewood House, home of the
Earl of Harewood, with splendid interiors and art treasures galore, and the
renowned Bird Garden with hundreds of exotic and endangered birds, all
set within a fabulous park landscaped by Capability Brown

Day 9 Thursday – York * Stamford * London
Breakfast & to charming Stamford for a brief stop, arriving in
London in early afternoon, where our English Cameos® Nature & Majesty ends.
