Day 1, Mon – Paris * Chalons-en-Champagne
Departure this morning from Paris, with our first stop in the Marne Valley at Bois Belleau, near Chateau Thierry, to visit the World War I & II Memorials. Lunch and then through some charming villages for a tasting of Champagne before reaching Chalons-en-Champagne for 2 nights at the wonderful Aux Armes de Champagne . (L,D)

Day 2, Tue – Reims * Epernay
A day to explore Reims, regional capital, with its superb Cathedral, where kings were once crowned, and to visit some of the famous cellars (with tastings) such as Pieper Heidseck and Taittinger. Lunch before taking the scenicEpernay Champagne roads to Chalons. (B,L,D)

Day 3, Wed – Chalons * Verdun * Nancy
Departure for Verdun, to pay respects and visit the Underground Citadel, and other highlights. Lunch at a famous inn, before continuing via St-Mihiel, to the glorious capital of Lorraine, Nancy, for 2 nights at the elegantGrand Hotel de la Reine . (B,L)

Day 4, Thu – Nancy
A full day to enjoy the birthplace of “Art Nouveau”. A walking tour will take us through picturesque streets to theMuseum of Fine Arts, and the remarkable Museum of the School of Nancy, where we enjoy some of the most beautiful creations of Galle, Majorelle and many others. (B, L)

Day 5, Fri – Nancy * Baccarat * The Vosges * Obernai
We depart for Baccarat to visit the outstanding Crystal Museum and then a most scenic drive in the Vosges viaShirmeck and Molsheim to Obernai, a delightful Alsatian town, for 4 nights at the Hotel du Parc . (B,D)

Day 6, Sat – Strasbourg
A full day to explore this Capital of Europe. We stroll through the lovely medieval center of “Petite France” with timbered houses, colorful flower boxes, covered bridges, towers, and picture?perfect streets such as rue des Orfèvres, and enjoy a boat ride in the river Ill. We will perhaps see the local storks, symbol of Alsace, in the Orangerie. We visit the State Apartments of the Palais Rohan , before returning to Obernai. (B,D)

Day 7, Sun – Colmar
On to Colmar for a comprehensive visit of its colorful medieval buildings, narrow streets, alleys, and the renownedUnterlinden Museum. We visit the Bartholdi Museum, home of the sculptor who created our Statue of Liberty.Lunch and some leisure time, before returning through the lush countryside. (B, L)

Day 8, Mon – Alsace Wine Roads & Villages
A full day for some quaint wine villages: Riquewihr, with ancient 16th and 17th century buildings, a true gem renowned for its Riesling, which we will sample; superb Kayserberg, with medieval houses, narrow alleys and a Renaissance Town Hall; and Turckheim, to mention a few. A highlight will be our drive to the Haut-Koenigsburg for a view of the region. (B,D)

Day 9, Tue – Obernai * Paris
After breakfast, we depart for Paris, with arrival scheduled in early afternoon.
